In all, There are six discovery walks, each with its own distinct theme.
They are continually evolving so each time you visit, there's always something new.
The residents of each village have marked their trails with illluminated paintings, huts, sculptures and lots of other surprises...
But most of all, the trails are fun to follow, and a source of delight and discovery for children.

In the village of Brommat, let the brightly-coloured little fish guide you along this trail by the water's edge.

A clearing by the water's edge with picnic tables - ideal for paddling.
Discover an astonishing flow of lava on the Lacroix-Barrez village trail.
To find the start of the trail, take the Chateau de Valon road out of the village.
This impressive geological feature speaks for itself but there is also a panel that explains it in simple terms.
La Fage: ideal for a picnic and a relaxing siesta.
Stroll though Mur-de-Barrez and you can imagine what life was like here in the Middle-Ages.
Step inside the church. Look around and above you and see if you can spot something or someone very unusual...
The buildings and façades also have their their story to tell.
This trail is currently being developed.

Starting point: The Monaco Tower

In the village of Murols, the trail presents the works forged by the residents who worked the bellows under the eye of Blaise, the Dragon, "Guardian of Fire".
Duration: 45 minutes - 2.5 km
Signs: Flame-coloured wrought iron arrows
Starting point: the pretty little town hall

The village houses a forge that has slept for many years.
The history of fire awaits you here...
open during school holidays.

Sculpture
From the village of Taussac, you "dive" into the living forest. Its life excites your senses with the sound of leaves in the wind, the song of the brook, and all the ephemeral scents of nature.
By using illuminations, the people of Taussac have carved and illustrated the stories that the trees keep preciously secret!
Duration: 2¼ hours - 4.5 km

Starting point: from the town hall facing the church
In Thérondels village, on this trail with splendid views of the Cantal mounts, you can imagine, and relive the time when man and nature were united with animals in creating the environment.
This path, called "L'Estrade", was a summer track on the plateau going from Murat to Conques.
Duration: 1½ hours (fairly smooth)
Signs: carved stones and wooden cows
Starting point: in the centre of the village in front of the town hall.
